Referee Development Program

Cuyahoga Falls Soccer Club recognizes that there is both a state and national shortage of referees. When there is a shortage of referees many games can go uncovered and players are provided with a less than optimal experience.

CFSC wants to encourage youth to pursue their US Soccer Certification as a Grassroots Referee.  The club is excited to announce a program that will help you start your journey as an official. Anyone interested in the details of this program should contact the club for information.

Parents, help us keep referees!

Most referees that last three years will continue, but many youth referees quit after just one season. Why do they leave, the number one reason is abuse from parents and coaches. When you are at a game remember the following:

1. Set a good example of sportsmanship - players look to parents and coaches for how to react
2. Remember that yelling at a referee will not change the call
3. Most referees are young, if you have a young referee think about if they were your child, how would you want your child treated
4. Adult referees earn very little for each game and mostly continue because they love the game
